MICS Spring Notice.

Fire Hazard Status Update

Pancake Breakfast

Hello Everyone

I would like to pass along a huge thank you from MICS to everyone that attended and participated in this years Pancake Breakfast.

We were blessed with some great weather and a nice turnout of island friends and family. It is always nice having some of our local artists and crafters in attendance displaying their wonderful creations, thank you for sharing, you are a talented bunch. Once again these events could not happen without the tireless support of our energetic volunteers. From site set up and teardown, kitchen staff, and those working the merchandise tables, thank you all for your hard work and dedication to the cause. Thanks to Kay and Harvey Taggart for setting up their table to distribute the latest updated Mudge phone lists. I know a lot of work is put into keeping these lists current and Harvey spent several hours ahead of time editing, checking and double checking before running off the latest edition.

I am pleased to tell you now that this was indeed a successful event for raising funds for MICS to continue on or mission of providing firefighting and emergency services equipment for Mudge Island. I will give you a mini breakdown of our sales and please keep in mind these totals represent sales from the day and do not reflect expenses incurred.

Food donations            $899.90

Membership donations $597.00

Mudge Gear sales        $1,720.00

Other income                $527.50  (50/50 draw and donations from crafters etc)

Phone list sales            $137.00

Total sales at the event less a couple minor IOU’s comes to   $3,881.90

I would also like to mention that the family who won the 50/50 draw donated all of their winnings back to MICS. That is very generous of you and we thank you very much.

Once again, great job Mudge Island, your continued support of MICS and their events is what keeps us going and able to do the things we do for our community.

Next up for the Society will be to begin the erection of our equipment shelter on the MICS property, very exciting times to be sure.

Thank you all again, what a great community to be part of and to work with.

Sincerely, Scott Flemming and the MICS Board of Directors
