The annual MICS Firefest and fundraiser auction this last BC Day long weekend was a tremendous success. I hope that all our hardworking volunteers, musicians and attendees have had a chance to get a bit of rest since the big event.

I had a laugh and was pleased to see so many younger people and kids learning how to use some of the firefighting equipment and beating the heat by having some playful water fights while handling charged hoses and nozzles. Well done.

There are far too many people to try and name you all individually but please know all of your efforts are deeply appreciated.
The dust is still settling but I wanted to let you all know that the event was a huge success and the society collected through donations, Mudge Gear sales and sales at the auction $21,500.ooThese funds go directly toward purchasing, maintaining, and operating of firefighting and emergency services equipment on Mudge Island. These funds will also help with the building project on the MICS property.
